Following our comittment to disseminate the result of our work, JoomlaPack Developers is happy to announce the immediate availability of 1.2 Alpha 2 (1.2a2) version of the JoomlaPack backup component. It is a pre-release version, supported on the same terms as regular SVN code. The single most notable change of this release is the ability to run either as a native Joomla! 1.0.x component (download the -j10 package), or a native Joomla! 1.5.x component (download the -j15 package). Moreover, JoomlaPack has undergone massive design changes under the hood to maximize efficiency, as well as usability improvements in the frontend.

This is alpha (pre-release) quality software, not intended for production sites. We strongly advise against installing it on live sites where stability is a key aspect of their operation. You are, however, encouraged to install and try it on local development or other test servers. The 1.2a2 version is identical to SVN revision 95.
